SES has a high level of expertise in steel finishing
Five box furnaces each with a loading capacity of 15 tons available for processing in an open furnace atmosphere. Maximum component
dimensions are 8 x 2 x 0.8 metres. Parts can be quenched in an oil or water bath in an 80m³ tank or by means of a so-called air shower,
where the parts are cooled in a controlled air flow. The box furnaces are chiefly used for tempering and annealing forgings for delivery
to respected automotive suppliers, which primarily operate in the truck sector. Another SES mainstay is bar steels which do require
straightening after heat treatment due to their length and diameter. SES has an annual capacity of approximately 35,000 tons.
Parts are heat treated under inert gas in a continuous roller hearth furnace. The goods to be treated are loaded and unloaded in
annealing baskets measuring 1400 x 1200 x 450 mm while non-critical parts (blanks) are loaded and unloaded by automatic bulk handling.
The maximum load of the baskets is 800 kg. Alternatively, partially machined or impact sensitive goods can also be loaded manually into
the annealing baskets and placed back in the transport containers after heat treatment.
Transportation of annealing baskets through the system is program controlled to ensure high process reproducibility. In this system it is
also possible to quench parts in oil or cool them to the desired temperature in a rapid cooling zone. The system is suitable both for
low-volume production and high-volume production on a long-term basis. An induction heated single-bar tempering system for diameters
from 18 - 105mm was put into service in 2007.
After heat treatment, residual scale can be removed from components by steel shot blasting. A tumble belt machine designed for single
pieces weighing up to 200kg is available for this purpose. It allows parts to be checked immediately for cracks or to be machined
mechanically. OWZ customers can expect fast, flexible and professional service. We attach great importance to trusting co-operation and
technical consultation.
