Bright steel is available peeled, drawn and ground. The main tolerances are DIN 668 (h11) and DIN 671 (h9) for peeled steel and j7
for ground steel.
These materials are usually available in lengths of approx. 3 and 6 metres. The material is supplied bevelled on either one or both
sides depending on the type of machine the consumer uses. The ends are also available in different finishes (e.g. sawn).
Bright steel is principally used for mechanical machining. Cold extruders and forges also use material turned on rolls in compliance
with DIN 10060.
These materials can be purchased from Scholz Edelstahl. As standard, they are ultrasound tested and checked for cracks and mixing
prior to delivery.
